Teaching Style, Students, and Classroom Activites
I like to consider my self a patient and laid back teacher but in a good way. I know that Math is not everyone's strong suit and a lot of us struggle with the subject no matter the age. So I try and remember that when teaching my students so they can grow a love for the subject and not be fearful of it. Which helps them in understanding the concepts and retaining the information better. My students are my pride and joy all 25 of them. They each are unique and bring excitement to my life. I love when I help them enjoy math and I especially love the infamous "AHA MOMENT". My favorite classroom activities are completing anchor charts with my students when we are covering new material or when they need additional ways of grasping a concept that they might be struggling with. My students love completing problems on the promethium board, I think it makes them feel like a teacher for a little while. When I see my students are getting bored or struggling and losing interest I like to bust out in a game. Our particular favorite is a game called "Travel" to see who can bypass all the students in particular math questions and make it all the way to the teacher. I love to have my students do additional resources at home to strengthen their knowledge because learning continues outside the classroom and two of my favorites are Starfall and Iready.
